Digital Projects
"The UW Madison Compost Journey" is an informative video that traces the journey of food scraps from the dining hall in Gordon Dining & Event Center to the anaerobic biodigester where it is converted into compost material.
Edge Effects is a digital magazine produced by graduate students at the Center for Culture, History and Environment, which is a research center within the UW-Madison Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. The website launched in October 2014. I was a member of its founding editorial board and served as Managing Editor from 2015-2016.
Contributions
- "Thoreau, Now More Than Ever: A Conversation with Laura Dassow Walls and Daegan Miller" (2018)
- "A Podcast on Simplicity" (2014)
- "Help, I've Got GAS!" (2014)
"Game of Tomes" is a tongue-in-cheek English major recuitment video that I made with fellow PhD student Andrew Kay for the UW-Madison English Department. As is probably obvious, its narrative loosely plays on the popular TV series, "Game of Thrones."
"Living By Fire" is a digital story that I created with Alexandra Rudnick (History of Science, UW-Madison), as part of a seminar on research methods for the Center for Culture, History, and Environment (CHE) at UW-Madison. "Living By Fire" explores the cultural and environmental legacies of wood burning in southern Wisconsin.
